Tourism is the second largest industry in the State of Georgia, driving billions in economic impact and generating billions in state and local tax revenues.

Tourism stimulates growth across hospitality, retail and transportation, while enhancing local infrastructure and promoting cultural and historical development.

In District 14, there are 2 historic Black cemeteries: Macedonia Cemetery in Johns Creek and Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Roswell.

In Georgia, there is no exact count of historic Black cemeteries because many are unmarked and undocumented.

To boost tourism in District 14 and in the entire State of Georgia, I would like to introduce legislation to return historic Black cemeteries to Descendants and create a state agency, similar to the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust, to preserve the history of historic Black cemeteries in Georgia.
